Transportation Guide

Navigating transportation during Umrah can feel overwhelming, but several reliable options connect the holy cities. Your choices range from budget-friendly public transport to convenient private transfers, depending on your needs for comfort, cost, and speed.

Part 1: From Jeddah Airport (JED) to Mecca

The distance is approximately 95 km, and the journey usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

Budget-Friendly Options
  • Northwest Bus (SAPTCO): This is the most economical option.
    • Cost: Approximately SAR 40–60 per person.
    • Duration: About 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.
    • Pros: Very cheap; buses run hourly from the airport to the Jarwal Bus Station in Makkah.

Convenient Options
